Your crew

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Linux System Engineer to join our global IT Infrastructure team in Lisbon.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, optimization, and support of Linux-based systems across multiple environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security in a complex, enterprise-level infrastructure.

This role requires strong technical expertise, analytical thinking, and the ability to work in a collaborative, international team with high attention to detail and process compliance.

Your Mission

• Administer and maintain Linux systems (e.g. Ubuntu, RedHat) in production and development environments
• Manage services such as DNS, DHCP, LDAP, NFS, Apache/Nginx, systemd, SELinux, and log management
• Automate system tasks using shell scripting, Ansible, or other configuration management tools
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware, OS, and application-level issues
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity teams to implement and maintain secure and compliant environments
• Support containerized services and tools (e.g. Docker, Podman, possibly Kubernetes)
• Manage backup and recovery operations for Linux servers using enterprise tools (e.g. Veeam, Commvault, etc.)
• Maintain system documentation, runbooks, and contribute to change and incident management processes (ITIL framework)
• Participate in global infrastructure projects (e.g. migrations, audits, lifecycle management)

Your Story:

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration in enterprise environments
• Deep knowledge of RHEL-based systems, filesystems, user/group/permission management, and system hardening
• Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, SaltStack) and version control (Git)
• Familiarity with monitoring platforms (Zabbix, Prometheus, Nagios)
• Good understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, routing, VLANs, firewalls)
• Basic knowledge of virtualization (VMware, KVM, Nutanix) and/or cloud integration (Azure, AWS, etc.) is a plus
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure
• Experience working with ITSM tools (e.g. ServiceNow) and within ITIL-based processes
• Good written and spoken English (working language); Portuguese is a plus

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Certifications such as RHCSA / RHCE, LPIC, or CompTIA Linux+
• Exposure to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, or Infrastructure as Code
• Experience in data center environments or critical infrastructure
