They will be part of a seven-person design team specializing in the development of innovative space mechanisms.

We are currently in an exciting transformation where we are growing a Tech Hub in Portugal. Together, we are a diverse team with different backgrounds and personalities, but we are all connected.

Your Mission

• Design Responsibility: Develop and construct mechanisms for space engineering and terrestrial applications, including associated test and assembly facilities.
• Solution proposals and evaluations: Develop innovative solution proposals and carry out comparative evaluations of possible variants.
• 3D Concept Design: Create concept designs in 3D (CATIA V5) and perform pre-sizing of critical components.
• Optimize design: Concretize and optimize designs both technically and economically.
• FE analysis: Perform simplified FE analysis to optimize the strength and stiffness of components.
• Detailed designs: Copy the detailed designs in 3D CAD.
• Technical documentation: Create technical documentation using CAD, SAP and PC according to internal processes.
• Communication and coordination: Communicate and coordinate with internal and external departments in English.
• Advice and support: Advise and support the bodies responsible for fabrication, assembly and testing.
• Contributions to offers: Create contributions to offers.
• Self-employment: Work independently with flexible working hours in an international environment

Your Story:

• Technical education: Completed technical training (HTL/FH Mechanical Engineering).
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in development as a design engineer in mechanical engineering.
• Experience in the design of mechanical systems.
• 3D CAD skills: Very good knowledge of 3D CAD systems, preferably CATIA V5.
• Technical expertise: In-depth and wide-ranging technical expertise.
• Creativity and flexibility in finding solutions.
• Proactive and enthusiastic work in the project team.
• Way of working: Structured, conscientious and careful way of working.
• Soft skills: ability to work in a team, ability to take criticism, personal responsibility, quality awareness and resilience.
• Communication skills: Communicative and organizational personality.
• Language skills: Fluent English and nice to have German.
