Your Mission

The Electronics Component Engineer role is to be a technical specialist for EEE component areas internally (at Beyond Gravity) and externally (suppliers). He/she supports product development and operations and acts as a core team member in projects with support from Project Lead Buyer. He/She ensures the well execution of tasks in line with stakeholder requirements. The Electronics Component Engineer conducts parts incoming inspections and supports on site electronics parts failure investigations and analysis.

  • Electronics (EEE) components technical knowledge:
  • Good understanding of EEE component properties;
  • Component selection and qualification for space applications:
  • Appropriate component selection depending on application
  • Qualification & screening processes to deliver in line with customer requirements, cost, and demand;
  • Support in definition of new company standards.
  • Define component procurement specifications and incoming inspection instructions for electronics components to deliver in line with customer quality, cost, and demand.
  • Drive & support EEE component analysis and test methods (DPA, CA, etc.). Select appropriate testing methods / standards (MIL, ESCC, etc.) and interpret results.
  • Monitor EEE parts obsolescence and communicate parts alerts actively. Participate in obsolescence review boards.
  • Electronics parts supplier communication: Being the point of contact for technical parts clarifications. Request quotations & lead times.
  • Participate in Non Conformance (NC) Review Board and propose technical solutions in the area of expertise. Support corrective action and perform basic root cause analysis. Support FAI (First Article Inspection) prevent NC occurrence by continuous on-site production support if required.
  • Support technical audit in relevant field of expertise
  • Basic understanding for trade compliance and global export regulations in the relevant sector. Familiar with key terms: ITAR, EAR, EU Dual Use, embargoes. Support export control manager with as-built and as-designed lists of components.

 

 

Your Story

Must have:

  • M. Sc. Electrical Engineering/Engineering Physics or corresponding relevant level of education/experience
  • Basic understanding of electrical hardware design
  • Good communication skills in dialog and writing internally and externally
  • Able to plan and execute tasks independently
  • Professional in communication with both internal and external interfaces
  • English in dialog & writing 

Nice to have's:

  • Experience as technical customer support for electronics parts
  • Experience with relevant industry standards e.g. ECSS, ESCC, MIL, IPC
  • Understanding of trade compliances e.g. ITAR, EAR, EU Dual Use
  • Knowledge of the space industry and market
  • Interested in the peripheral aspects of component engineering such as cost analysis and logistics
  • Understanding of radiation effects on electronic equipment
  • Experience in component construction analysis
  • Collaborative and creative mindsetGerman in dialog & writing
