Your crew

You‘ll join a dynamic team of ~20 system and test engineers, where your role will focus around the technical leadership of a multidisciplinary project team. In Zurich, we are around 200 people in the Lithography division, including 60 engineers. We develop and build complex mechatronic components as well as complete machines, providing the next-generation production equipment for the semiconductor industry.

 

Your mission

As the lead engineer of a high-end mechatronics project, you have leadership over a team of 10-20 engineers and are responsible for the overall development and verification up to series production.

 

  • Technically lead a multi-disciplinary engineering project team (e.g. system engineers, analysis engineers, test engineers, design engineers) towards completion of development activities and during series production ramp-up (depending on product/project scope).
  • Be the technical authority and main contact point for technical topics.
  • Define and manage the design, development, and verification flow toward the different phase of a project. This includes i) specification and verification management including compliance matrix and test specification, ii) conceptualization and trade-offs of design solutions, lead design and analysis towards best requirements fulfilment, iii) supporting series production and industrialization including design changes and iv) responsible and reviewer of the technical product documentation including CE certification.
  • Participate and technically lead internal and customer reviews, including effective presentations of working results.
  • Together with the project manager, plan and request appropriate resource based on bottom-up project planning to the functional organisation. Define and assign tasks to each team member or sub-teams, manage work and priorities aiming at having successful project reviews and on-time product delivery.
  • Estimate the duration and technical effort required to perform a given engineering work package and the added value of it. Negotiate with the different stakeholders on a technical level.
  • Manage focus topics, prioritization and unforeseen tasks (e.g. claim management, anomalies, non-conformances).
  • Ensure proper implementation of technical risk management within the project. Ensure adequate and efficient root cause analysis.

 

Your story

  • Master or PhD in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering or related fields
  • At least 7 years’ experience, with proven expertise in system engineering or technical team management
  • Experience in machine development programs for high-precision applications in an industrial setting
  • Broad understanding, competence and experience in mechatronics engineering for demanding applications, for example aerospace or vacuum, lithography, scientific instruments, MedTech, automation, robotics …
  • In-depth knowledge of any of the following is an asset: mechanics, mechanism, and relevant norms (ISO, CE), electrical engineering, controls, automation of difficult production steps, data analysis, manufacturing techniques, technical support during series and pre-series production
