your Crew
You’ll be part of an energetic team of 6 experienced buyers based in Zurich Seebach office. Your role will be pivotal and crucial in ensuring the smooth flow of goods, materials, or information throughout the supply chain team and the internal stakeholder. This diverse team comprises highly skilled buyers and specialists from various backgrounds, each bringing their unique perspective to the business.
The Project Lead Buyer is responsible for:
Your Mission
- Source, evaluate, and engage reliable suppliers that meet technical, economic, and quality requirements, ensuring strong long‑term partnerships.
- Issue and manage requests for quotation for prototype, flight, and serial parts/materials, including production jigs and tools.
- Work in strong collaboration with Project Managers to ensure seamless project procurement, alignment on milestones, and proactive risk mitigation.
- Negotiate prices, conditions, and framework agreements in close alignment with Commodity Managers.
- Drive continuous optimization of total cost of ownership (TCO) and lead savings initiatives.
- Ensure timely availability of all externally sourced BOM parts, materials, and jigs according to project milestones.
- Identify deviations in cost, schedule, or quality, define corrective actions, and ensure their implementation.
- Maintain accurate ERP procurement article data and ensure sourcing activities comply with company and legal requirements.
- Prepare and approve purchase orders, coordinate deliveries, and confirm receipt of goods and services.
- Support customer offer calculations by providing accurate procurement cost overviews.
- Align procurement activities with materials management and production planning requirements.
- Participate in supplier qualification, development, and performance monitoring.
- Manage and follow up on supplier quality claims to ensure resolution and continuous improvement.
Your Story
- Completed technical and/or commercial education with 5+ years of technical and operational sourcing experience.
- Strong background in global sourcing and solid technical understanding.
- High cost and quality awareness with a strong drive for results.
- Excellent negotiation skills and reliability, with consistent adherence to deadlines.
- Experience working in project-driven environments and cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in SAP S/4HANA and related procurement administration and control processes.
- Experience in the space or aerospace sector is an advantage.
- Fluent in English and German.
- Lean and Six Sigma training or experience is a plus.
- Strong communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%.
