Your Mission:

A Software Engineer in general provides software engineering expertise and service for embedded processing and payload solutions to development projects and series production programs and is responsible for the satellite on-board software development life-cycle including the requirements, design, implementation, validation and documentation. A Software Engineer is responsible for the satellite on-board software development according to the requirements, including design, implementation, validation and documentation.

  • Apply software design and development processes across the full lifecycle, from requirements to validation
  • Define detailed software module designs and technical requirements based on system-level specifications
  • Develop, test, and debug software (C and Assembly) on embedded target systems with focus on performance and efficiency
  • Design and execute unit, integration, and validation tests to ensure requirements compliance
  • Collaborate closely with system, FPGA, and hardware teams to ensure seamless integration
  • Contribute to technical concepts, modular architectures, and technology choices, supporting innovation and product differentiation
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation and manage code/configuration in version control systems
  • Support process improvement through automation (e.g., Python scripting) and tool enhancements
  • Monitor progress against milestones, identify risks, and communicate effectively with technical leads
  • Participate in customer and subcontractor interactions, supporting technical discussions and issue resolution


Your Story:

  • Has advanced knowledge of real time software design and development and is a profound programmer in C
  •  Is well acquainted with software engineering standards (incl. ECSS), methods, processes and tools
  •  Has the ability to set up trade-off’s regarding cost, time, quality, performance, etc., based on the
  • Combination of the customer’s need and the projects budget
  • Has a good understanding of recurring and non-recurring efforts and cost drivers/aspects and contributes positively to the overall result

Nice to Have:

  • Follows the processes and makes suggestions on how to improve the processes
  • Has good collaboration skills and is looking for answers and solutions both within and outside the team, including other departments, companies, and suppliers
  • Is creative, solution-oriented, and open to outside influences with the ability to implement them internally
  • Has the will and ability to independently take on new tasks outside his/her main competence area
