Discover RUAG

This programme offers you the chance to gain unique insights into the company on an international scale, to put your own field of work in a larger context and to make valuable connections.

Who is the programme for?
Discover RUAG is aimed at all employees of the various divisions and levels who are interested in expanding their horizons and getting to know other areas, ways of working and countries. The only condition, in addition to language abilities: you have to have the talent and ambition to drive us forward.

What is it for?
Employees should have the opportunity to experience other specialist areas, divisions, locations and countries in person and gain a deeper understanding of how everything fits together, what we have in common and what our differences are. We believe there is no better way to ensure integration and enhanced teamwork than being together in person. And we would like for you, as an interested and open-minded employee, to be able to experience the spirit of “Together ahead” personally.

What are the details?
Discover RUAG is an internship programme that runs for eight to twelve weeks at one or several locations. You have the chance to get to know other divisions and countries and to take on new know-how. Slots for this programme are announced on the internal job market.

360°

If you would like to develop further on a targeted track, this is the programme for you. Based on the RUAG competence model, we developed the 360° package of measures to establish a company-wide culture of learning, with targeted feedback and a clear agenda for individual growth.

Who is the programme for?
Independent of the field of specialty, and level within the field, all employees have to chance to participate in 360°. The group of participants is compiled on an individual basis. It pays to ask!

What is it for?
Here is where you have the chance to complement or further develop the profile of your specialist competencies – quickly, efficiently and comprehensively. This includes topics such as information behaviour, interpersonal competence, self-management and similar essential skills for working in teams and on projects.

What are the details?
On a regular basis in 360° feedback rounds, you receive valuable hints and concrete measures for your individual growth, according to a company-wide RUAG competence model. The idea of 360° means that individual feedback is provided and reviewed by both your supervisors and your team colleagues at the same level. If you have a management position, feedback is taken from the team you lead.

Project management training according to IPMA

If you are responsible for projects as a project coordinator, yet want to lead projects across divisions and countries as a project manager, the right certification is essential. Together with IPMA, the International Project Management Association, and VZPM, the association for the certification of persons in management, we offer this qualification through basic courses or A-level certification at all the necessary and possible levels.

Who is the programme for?
The vocational and further training in project management is targeted at employees and managers who currently or in future will work on projects and do not have a project management certification, and at project coordinators who have responsibility for at least small projects or parts of projects. It also targets project, programme and portfolio managers at all levels – up to senior management – who are responsible for complex, strategic international projects, programmes and portfolios.

What is it for?
The vocational training serves as an instrument for your continual further growth and the maintenance of your project management competence, through certification and re-certification. For us as a company, it creates an internationally binding framework across all divisions and locations, as well as with cooperating partners and customers. We speak a common language, so to speak, and have common quality standards, which helps us to enhance the efficiency and quality of our projects.

What are the details?
Depending on need and conditions, you can build on your knowledge in courses ranging from non-certified basic courses to four certification levels (increasing from D to A). The courses are created in a way that you can complete them parallel to your work. On-site phases rotate with distant-learning phases and you have access to workshops, seminars and in-house events – everything you need for the successful preparation of the test and certification. The test is given by a qualified and independent body: VZPM, the association for the certification of persons in management
